I recently switched to starlink and I don't have a ipv4 public address as they use a cgnat system. I have a server setup for personal use behind my router and I cannot connect to it using the port forwarding anymore.
I've learned that I can use IPv6 with starlink and I have the router setup with ipv6 enabled. it is getting a WAN IPv6 address assigned from starlink. But it is not passing a IPV6 address to the LAN. I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my router or if its to old and I need a newer model to do what I want to do.

Check with starlink on what IPv6 configuration is needed on the router.
FYI, R6700 series is kinda old now so IPv6 on the router may not be up to specs for IPv6 configurations of today. May need something newer.

Googling suggests that the Starlink-supplied router blocks all incoming IPv6 traffic, and that can't be changed. So you would need to use a third party router. There are some instructions out there if you google - hard to say which Netgear routers will work with those instructions.

You could consider
- using a cloud VPN service that supports port forwarding (installing the client on your server and of course your remote access devices).
- getting a Starlink Business Plan
Both would of course cost.
You could also use TailScale or possibly ZeroTier - installing that on your server and also the devices you use for remote access. That will work w/o port forwarding, and is available (with some restrictions) in their free plans. Some routers (not Netgear) have support for one of these options - eliminating the need to install it on your server.
