Nighthawk r6900 activation
I just bought a used netgear nighthawk R6900 Dual Band router and as i go to set it up, i get a error while registering the product which is that its already been registered. This is a dissapointment after buying a product and trying to set it up at home. Can anybody help me out on how to register it on my own name and email. Anybody please help!

Which is it? Look for "Model" on the product label.
What's to "activate"? What benefits do you expect to get from
registering this out-of-warranty device?> [...] i get a error while registering the product which is that its

That's right. The first user probably registered it.
Registration is of limited value and does nothing to prevent you from using the thing. It exists for free installation support (90 days after purchase) and warranty protection (a year or so depending on where you bought it.)
Neither of these is transferable to another user.

Why a disappointment? It is a fact of second-hand life – hope you got a bargain – that does not prevent you from using the thing.
First, of course, reset the device to remove any settings created by the previous owner.

If you are talking about something else, such as signing up for Anywhere Access on mynetgear, which isn't really a registration issue, try this:
