Nighthawk R6900v2 antenna loose

I have a Nighthawk R6900v2 router. It has been mishandled, and one of the antennas has come apart. See attached photo.  The screw connector mounted on the motherboard is just fine and is solid. It's only the antenna that has come apart. The knurled nut is separate from the rest of it and the wire is pulled out. The wire won't come out of the knurled nut - the connector at the router won't let it pull through, which is fine. There doesn't seem to be any piece that is broken. So what held it together in the first place and how do I put it back together?  Do I need to glue something? Was the knurled nut fused to the other part so it all turns as one piece?  I can't see how the other antennae are assembled and obviously I don't want to take them apart.

Thanks

Ya might try glue but know once glued it.

Could find a alternative replacement online if that unscrews from the router?

  • I don't really know which part has broken or come apart. I also don't know which part needs to swivel (or not).  There doesn't seem to be any broken plastic or glue anywhere. Does the knurled knob have to turn relative to the part that it comes up against? If so, then how does it stay together?
