NightHawk X6 R8000 spits out "Invalid IP address. Please enter it again."

I have a NightHawk X6 R8000

Firmware - V1.0.4.84_10.1.84

I have a weird error message while trying change the 2.4 Ghz channel.

"Invalid IP address. Please enter it again." comes up when I try to apply.

When I check the Lan Settings where I have the IP set as 192.168.43.119 and the DHCP enabled for the rest of the LAN and hit apply, the router accepts it with no problem.

The only IP address on the Wireless settings is that of the Radius Server which is on my Synology system. That IP works fine with it and I can log in to it with no problems. The Radius Server is successfully logging in all my users. There are no Invalid IPs, what would this be referring to?

Any ideas?

What browser are you using? Happens with other browsers?

Does this happen if you set the router IP address pool to default of 192.168.1.1 and do same thing?

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

I am using Firefox, I will try another browser and if that does not do it, a factory reset when I have the time.

      Thanks

  • What I did finally was to put the gateway at *.*.*.1 ! The router didn't like it at an odd place. That is a firmware issue.
