No Secure Connections Available

Our Nighthawk R7000 has be attached to a Nighthawk CM1200 modem for about a year with no problem. This past weekend, the ISP took their network down for what they called "a neighborhood upgrade". When it finished, we were able to connect to the ISP using the modem directly from one PC, but the router can only establish unsecured connections, which are then universally rejected by every website. Each time, I get a popup asking me to log in to the router, but all known user/password combinations fail, even after doing a factory reset. Any ideas, anyone?

The CM1200 has 4x ethernet ports. but only 1 device can be connected to it for most ISP's because they only assign 1 public ip address.

    so try this.

Power off the modem and the router. Make sure nothing is plugged into the mode.

    give it 2 minutes.

Power the modem on and give it 2 minutes.

Plug the R7000 into port 1 on the modem and power it on.

    give it a couple minutes.

See if you can set it up/use it.

This was one of my earlier steps. Intially after service was restored by the ISP I had no connectivity at all. After your recommended procedure, the router connected, but only made unsecure connections. There are some notes about "cert" being "invalid"(?)

        got a screensnip?

What firmware is on the R7000?

When the R7000 is connected to the cm1200, are you able to log into the CM1200 and check its event logs and cable connections page? If so, post them back on here

  • Clarification: a previously posted solution recommended using the Google DNS addresses. This does not solve my problem.
