One Device Won't Connect to Nighthawk

Nighthawk AC2300 Smart WiFi Router - Model R7000P

We have had this router for over 6 years now. We've never had an issue with connecting to the internet. We have one device (a Dell laptop) that has connected in the past with no issues, but recently it will no longer stay connected to the internet. We contacted the internet provider and there is no issue on their end. How can we get this device back connected and working properly with the router?

whenever its a single device with issues, it makes me suspicious of the device and not the network.

Might try a simple wifi usb adapter and see if that works. If it does, you could always try replacing the internal card or keep using the usb one

I agree with Plemans, it could be the failure of your wi-fi and/or network port on your laptop.

If you have a network port, you could try hardwiring into the router to see if there is a connection and to check for updated drivers for the wi-fi and/or firmware for the laptop, as it possibly could also use a bios update that might possibly help as well.

If that fails or not possible, then I have the same suggestion to get a wi-fi adaptor and try that.

Go to the Dell support web site and check to see if there are updates to the Wi-Fi drivers.

Go in to the Windows settings and check the Network status.  Under properties, check to see if the profile is set to private and not public.  Sometimes Windows updates will change the profile to public with no outside input.
