R7000 died?

R7000 working fine for years. This morning all LAN LEDs are dark and Ethernet devices can't reach anywhere. Wireless devices say they can connect to the router but the router has no internet connectivity. WAN light also dark, 2.4GHz light on, 5GHz light off, power light on but dim red. Power cycle didn't help, other than to verify the actual LEDs are still functional, they do illuminate briefly during a reboot. Factory reset, but the LAN port where I've connected my laptop the LED is dark and the laptop reports cable unplugged. The Ethernet devices and cables all seem fine, on my backup router the LEDs light up. It's as if the router suddenly can't see any of its physical ports.

The power LED is sometimes bright, sometimes dim, so I'll see if I have any other power bricks around to try.

I don't suppose there's a way of seeing the startup console spew short of opening the box? I'm sure I saw an article somewhere about hacking a serial port. Any other thoughts?

    Good call.

First thing to try is the power adapter.

      Output: 12V 3.5A

Yeah, I don't have any adapters around that output 3.5A. Wow.

I don't think I had auto-update enabled, not entirely sure.

Windows isn't allowed in my house, but I'm sure I can find tftpd for Linux and try that. I'm dubious it'll work since the laptop thinks the cable is unplugged. Will let you know.

If you can get a new power adapter, try that first.
If after the power adapter doesn't resolve this, try a 30-30-30 reset on the router. Might kick it out of it's bad state. If that or TFTP even fails, then the router just may be bad and needs replacing.
