R7000 wired device no internet
Hi,
I have an R7000 which has been working perfectly for some time. Yesterday, my playstation 4 had no internet (wired).
Everything that is connected wirelessly has internet and the playstation can still play films on my NAS (also wired to the router).
I have reset the router twice, updated the firmware, restarted the playstation several times but cannot work out why the router will not give internet access to the ps4.
The ps4 internet test says "Obtaining ip address - Successful" and then "Internet - failed".
I do have it set to a static IP address for port forwarding.
I can also see the ps4 as a connected device in the Genie app, but still no internet access for this one device!
can anyone help???!!
Thanks for the replies,
It seems that suddenly my internet settings on the ps4 just stopped working.
I have it manually setup for a static ip address so i can open ports to the ps4.
I just changed the settings to automatic and it worked fine.
I fixed the static ip by setting the router to give a specific ip address to the mac address on the ps4.
Strange that it worked for years and now suddenly stopped.
I think it was to do with the subnet mask i had set to 255,255,255,0.
On the router it was 255,255,255,128. I tried that on the ps4 and all that happened was it had to think a bit longer before coming up with "internet failed".
Anyway, all is working fine now, thanks!

Do you think you might have an IP conflict where more than one devices is using the same IP address?

255.255.255.0 is the usual value for most routers. If you set it manually on the router, it might be a mistake.
The consequence is that local IP addresses that end in 128-255 will misbehave.
