Nighthawk Router wifi will not connect to internet when cat6 are in the ports
I have comcast internet. Surfboard modem, nighthawk router. When the modem is connected to the router only wifi works corrcetly. If I try to connect and ethernet cord to any of the 4 ports on the back of the router, the wifi stops working. All the wifi devices remain connected (at least the iphones and ipads show they are still connected) but can't access any websites, thus not connected to the internet. Ok, So I receieved my Nighthawk 6700v2 router today and was excited to set it up. :C then it hit the fan. This might be far fetched for most of you as it is in New Zealand, but nevertheless: my ISP is Spark and I am currently on a Fibre 100 Plan. This of course comes with a 'fibre box' which is mounted on the wall and has my router connected to it. However, when I take out the ethernet and put it in the nighthawk, configure the settings appropriately, firmware update; nothing. I performed a self diagnosis and found that the issue is transferring the broadband (internet i think) from the fibre box to the nighthawk. Is this a compatability issue? Can I fix it? Or should i just get a refund? I ordered the nighthawk from US Amazon, so is that the reason? I moved into a new place and got a Netgear cable modem CM400 to use with my nighthawk router for xfinity. I can conect to the internet threw my PC but i dont have wifi anymore and my xbox wont connect either plugged in. I have tried differnt browsers as well as 192.168.1.1 & 192.168.0.1 & routerlogin.net & routerlogin.com neither works the page never loads I cant ping 192.168.1.1 so im not connected to the router. I pressed the reset button on the router as well as reseting my modem and router multiple times. I have cleared my cache on chrome. The only power light on my AC1900 is the power light and 1LAN, but still on internet. Hi, I have an R7000 which has been working perfectly for some time. Yesterday, my playstation 4 had no internet (wired). Everything that is connected wirelessly has internet and the playstation can still play films on my NAS (also wired to the router). I have reset the router twice, updated the firmware, restarted the playstation several times but cannot work out why the router will not give internet access to the ps4. The ps4 internet test says "Obtaining ip address - Successful" and then "Internet - failed". I do have it set to a static IP address for port forwarding. I can also see the ps4 as a connected device in the Genie app, but still no internet access for this one device! can anyone help???!!Solved3.9KViews0likes5Comments
R8500 Firwmare 1.0.2.86 Bricked Router
I logged on to my router this AM and noticed the update for 1.0.2.86. I upgraded but the router never came back online. The power light is blinking amber even after a reset (didn't seem to do anything). I configured wired windows 10 device with Static IP and cannot ping the router. What are my next steps? Hello, Problem: Router R7000 with firmware 1.0.4.30 is connected to Netgear modem CM500 which is connected to ComCast Cable internet. Everything worked fine until yesterday - nothing changed in setup, the internet stops working. Called ComCast - they confirmed they were able to ping the CM500 modem. I connected ethernet cable from modem to laptop - internet works fine. ComCast confirms modem & internet is fine - problem is in the R7000 router. When i connect ethernet cable from modem to laptop, the ethernet light in the modem is green/stable. When i connect the same cable to router, the ethernet light in the modem doesn't light up. Also on the router, the internet light doesn't light up at all. Troubleshooting performed on the R7000 router: Restore to factory settings Power Cycle the router/modem set up Firmware upgrade & repeat the above Installed NetGear genie app and repeated all the above tests I do see the MAC address on the router. Did refresh of laptop internet settings etc. Contact with NetGear Support: Contacted them to see if they honor the 1 year hardware warranty (since my router is still within this period). They asked me to post in this forum and didn't confirm anything about the 1 year hardware warranty - this sounds very weird to me, as clearly something is wrong with the router & I did not cause it to go wrong. Purchased the router from BestBuy and I have the purchase receipt. Can someone help me with how to proceed from here? I am pretty confident that I need to change the router - but I don't want to just buy one myself since the router is 9 months old & within the hardware warranty period. Please advice. R7000 wifi is not working correctly?
Hello, Recently I have changing my router's firmware from Tomato to the original netgera firmware since I did not need that Tomato stuff. I beleive I have done so correctly since I followed a video showing me so one-for-one. I did get the original firmware back with Netgear Genie being compatable with it. However, the wifi is a problem, along with the LAN connection. The wifi 5g and 2g networks show up correctly as an acess points, and I can easily get onto them, but they can not browse the internet at all! It simply loads a page forever, same thing for mobile applications! I've done factory resets two times, turned it off and unplugged it, but it's still the same thing. The Wifi shows up correctly with the correct information, but still it does not want to browse the internet corretly. There is also a NETGEAR80-arlo thing that came on, I'm curious as to what that is and how to disable it? thanks in advance.Solved5.4KViews0likes7Comments
