Setting up EX7000 access point without wiring it to the router?
I’m not too tech savvy but from what I read you set the EX7000 up as an access point and connect it to the router using the Ethernet ports. However that’s not what I want exactly. I was wondering if I can connect the extender to the CAT6/Ethernet port(not sure what the correct name of port on the wall is called) on the wall in my room upstairs instead of hardwiring it to the router. The router is downstairs in my brother’s room. Our routers connect to the internet via CAT6 ports instead of coax since the ONT box in our garage acts as a modem (according to the Best Buy employees I’ve talked to). So instead of having a modem connected via coax and a router connected to the modem, we just plug in the router with out the need of a modem device. So I was hoping I could just do the same with the extender and not it connect to the router wirelessly or have it hardwired to the router itself.

My nighthawk router was hacked The IP address changed to 10.0.0.1 It’s name is now local host I renamed the networks and changed the passwords through The router login Then I was unable to access the router login again I did a hard reset on the router and the old router names came back in the Genie App but the new router names still appear in my network settings on my iPhone 7 I have done both a Network reset and a hard reset and we set up of my iPhone I can’t load the latest update because I can’t connect to the network I am in need of remote support from net gear to walk me through getting my device set up and secured again When I tried to sign up for support I get stuck in some kind of a loop and I need to either no the local office in St. Paul or Minneapolis Minnesota that will provide a check to service me or the location where I can find a check to buy a support contract and get support for my productNetwork extender as wireless access point EX7000
Tried to purchase a router but was sold a network extender. I was able to set it up as a wireless access point. It seemed to be okay but now we are having intermittent issues with connectivity on one computer and the name doesn't show up on another computer. Is this because it isn't an actual router. Should I go purchase a router?Genie Login
So I'm not getting money extorted from me, I'm trying to rename my 5g feed via network Genie. I can login to genie when I'm connected via 2g and have renamed this network. I use my iPad and when I try to login to change the name and password on 5g,, I get an error message : (login failed, router failed to respond with expected results.) thanks in advance for the help.Cant login to openDNS from genie
My router is a DGN2200 A few problems - how do I know what version I have as it does not seem to say anywhere - does that mean that this version will not work with Genie? I managed to use the Genie App the first time I login in and changed the parental controls itbut now it comes back with the message "Netgear router not found or is not supported. Make sure that your mobile device is not connected to the router's guest network and the the iPv6 is not enabled" Okay so how do I know if I am connected to the "guest network"?? What is iPv6? Is my login what is written on my router? I am finding this really hard to navigate through please help
