R7400 Netgear NightHawk drops WAN constantly

R7400 Netgear NightHawk drops WAN (aka ISP, internet) constantly.  And by that I mean it drops the connection to the WAN ethernet port.

About every 15 minutes the router drops the WAN for about 5 seconds.  I have installed the most recent Router Firmware Version V1.2.0.92_1.0.1.  The cable modem (Netgear CM1000) has no issues and no errors in the cable modem event log.

According to this post on reddit, the R7000 (and by extension the R7400) WAN dropping problem is with the newer firmwares after v1.0.9.42.  So Netgear introduced a BUG into the firmware over TWO YEARS ago and won't fix it or pretends it doesn't exist.  I will NEVER buy another Netgear product as long as I live.  I have had many important videocalls dropped and lost too many games.  Garbage product.

Interesting, my R7000 has not seen this issue, ever:

Actually the router ran very well while i had it online. Others would have posted here as well commenting on any WAN issues, if they saw something.

I don't believe the R7000 or R7400 series would be or should be compared as the same. There are differences hardware wise.

Would need to check your Modems Connections status page to see what is seen here rather the events log page.

Ensure your using good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

      WiFi neighbors?
What could that possibly have to do with R7400 dropping the ethernet WAN connection?
Be glad that you got a good one, many don’t.

What modem/gateway is the router connected to?
