Probably because they changed something in Mozilla.

Your router doesn't look around and say "Here comes Mozilla. Batten down the hatches."

As browsers get more and more security conscious they put on more layers of protection. If anything, I find that Firefox causes less trouble on that front.

Have you looked at the security warnings?
