R8000 Firmware will not update

Router firmware will not update. current version 1.0.3.32_1.1.21 new version downloaded R8000-V1.0.3.48_1.1.33.chk. I used a hardwire connection directly connected to router. Never updates, the admin utility just sits there and  just, status bar says updating. however an hour or more passed no update to the status bar?

    Are you using the Desktop Genie or the web UI to update the firmware?

      I was using the GUI. It never would install the fw. So I reset to factory. Then it allowed me to install the fw. Then I restored from backup. All works well now. Thanks for the help
