R8500 not registering ReadyCLOUD

Hi I bought the R8500 Nighthawk Router and I connected my WD My Book Essential 2Tb (model WDBACW0020H8K-01) and I change the share name to "MyDrive" and I'm able to get to my drive by doing \\mydrive\usbdrive however I cannot 'register' it.

I've created, deleleted and recreated the ReadyCloud account numerous times, but all the "Register" page does is "refresh" when I put in my username/password and hit "Register". I don't get an error or anything and I deffinately don't get a "successful" message....

I'm on Firmware V1.0.2.54_1.0.56.

Anyone else have an idea?

  • Kindly verify if removing any special character in your password will work.

Hi Dootchie Can you post a screenshot?

I have just tried this right now and it's working on my end.

  • I have tried all the suggested fix actions to get my router and my usb device to register with ReadyCloud.  I have created a password that is really basic with no special characters, still no joy!!  I am able to connect to my ReadyShare through smb and have even successfully downloaded, installed and signed in to the ReadyCloud app for Mac.  Any suggestions would be welcomed.  I just want to use my data anywhere I am and not be tethered to my local Wifi network.  I am using firmware version is V1.0.2.54_1.0.56.

Hi, what worked for me was I had to change my Cloud password to NOT have special Characters (remove $,#,@,!, etc). After I did that I was able to log into the admin screen (http://routerlogin.net/) and Register my Cloud device

So the password has to be even more basic than the one I originally put in.  I can't believe how stupid of a password I put in for this to work, but it is working.  Thank you.
