R9000 Problem Streaming Tivo Recordings on Wired LAN
NOTE: #R9000 router with firmware version V1.0.5.42 (latest).
I recently replaced my old Tivo Roamio with a Tivo Edge, as I had problems watching shows on the Edge & streaming issues over my Netgear LAN to my Minis (mainly black screens of death). I have several Tivo Minis on my wired LAN to locally stream the recordings from the Edge, they all showed the same problem.
Now, a Tivo Mini occasionally throws a warning on-screen about the network being too slow. Sometimes the recording recovers without a hitch, and sometimes the the recording stops playing when Mini drops the connection.
My research on the Netgear R9000 shows that its Quality of Service (QoS) only works for WAN connections, to better share your internet bandwidth.
I need a version of QoS for my LAN, so I can give priority to local LAN bandwidth FROM my Tivo Edge TO any device (e.g. on the LAN or even possibly when streaming outside my home network.)
Can any Netgear router do this? Does any other router offer this feature?
Many thanks in advance,

So the devices are ethernet connected to the back of the R9000?
What CAT# lan cable are you using? CAT6 is recommended.
Have you tried installing a external Gb LAN switch behind the router then connect these devices to this LAN switch? Something like NGs GS 105/108 or GS-308 would be suggested.
QoS isn't needed for LAN persae rather it's for upstream data flow to the WAN side.
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended. Thanks, I'm using CAT5e or CAT6 cables, gigabit switch, etc. And I mentioned "..the Netgear R9000 shows that its Quality of Service (QoS) only works for WAN connections."
I was hoping to hear of a current router brand/model which performs some sort of traffic shaping on LAN connections, as I recall one of my old routers (either Linksys or Netgear) allowing such capability ~8-15 years ago. Looks like I'll continue using my Google machine to try and find a suitable alternative.
