RAX30 firmware update to V1.0.14.108_1 fails — stuck on V1.0.13.102_2
Hi everyone,
I'm having trouble updating my RAX30 firmware and hoping someone here has run into the same issue.
Current firmware: V1.0.13.102_2 Update offered: V1.0.14.108_1 (security bug fix according to the release notes)
What I've tried:
- Clicked "Yes" on the automatic update prompt in the router admin page → nothing happens, no progress
- Downloaded the firmware file manually from the Netgear website
- Uploaded it manually via Advanced > Administration > Firmware Update
- Rebooted the router afterward
Result: Every time I check, the router still shows V1.0.13.102_2, and the update prompt keeps reappearing asking me to install V1.0.14.108_1 again. It's like the update just isn't taking effect.
Has anyone else experienced this on the RAX30? Any tips on how to force the update, or should I try a factory reset first? Also wondering if this is a known bug with this particular firmware release.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I also performed a full factory reset of the router, then tried the update again (both automatic and manual) → same result

And you unpacked the FW file from the .zip file after it was downloaded?
Using MS Edge or Firefox browser?

Yes, I unpacked the .chk file from the .zip before uploading it manually.
I used Google Chrome to perform the update- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
Try using MS Edge or Firefox browser?
What happens if you downgrade the router back to first version of FW then after, apply this latest version of FW?
