Reboot!

Hello,

I recently converted my cable modem to an Arris device and enabled WiFi connectivity on my R7000 router. Since then, I've had to reboot the R7000 at least once a day. All wireless connections remain but there is no internet connectivity. The activity lights on the router continue to function but I cannot connect to the router web interface on my local network. Therefore, a power recycle is required to restart it.

The latest firmware (V1.0.9.88_10.2.88) had been installed.

Any thoughts on what is going on? There is no way administratively that I have found to schedule a daily restart.

Thanks,

Ron

What is the brand and model of the Arris modem?

You would not be on latest FW:

    https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Wi-Fi-5-AC-Routers/New-R7000-Firmware-Version-1-0-11-136-Released/td-p/2245573/jump-to/first-unread-message

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

Thanks for your reply. The Arris model is SB6190. I will download and install the latest firmware from the link provided. I have not done a complete factory reset but will do so if you think it necessary after the firmware update.

      Will update when done.

I recommend getting into a different model modem. That model has a long standing vulnerability. Was reported on dslreports.com
