Replacement for R7960 router
I have never been able to update the Nighthawk R7960 router firmware and it seems this model does have an issue with this function and the work around is beyond my abilities. I cannot use the iPhon...

There is a workaround to fix the firmware issue.

If its beyond your abilities, nothing wrong with the firmware you were on.

Thank you for your link and yes--way beyond my abilities. Like I said the router is working just fine for now but I cannot see who is on my network as I check once in awhile to make sure its just who I authorized but now the 192.168.1.1 only shows who was on as of the date (unknown) when it could connect with my router. Just concerned and trying to prepare for its demise on its replacement.

I wouldn't plan to hard. I've used a ton of routers and its rare for one to fail if its not being really stressed or getting hot for some reason. When (if) it does go or you decide to upgrade, since a new generation came out (wifi 7/BE), all the older AX/AXE stuff is pretty cheap renewed/refurbished. For example, Old "jeff b." has the RAX43 renewed for only $70 right now. Pretty darned cheap for a pretty reasonable AX4200 device. While its not flagship level, its a jump up from the R7960P (other than its not triband but that was more of a gimmick). If you like the triband, the rax70 renewed is only $100 right now.

Again, thank you for your reply and suggestions...I am not too tech savy and yes fell for the tri band thing and will keep that new 7/BE thing in mind.. I would like to stay with Netgear as I am familiar with how they work and too old to learn more...(or just done have the energy anymore) Ha ha ...thank you again.
