router issues

So I recently just upgraded my internet speed to gigblast and bought a new modem to handle the speed CM1200 and after installing the modem now my router the nighthawk Ac1900 sends out a signal but all my devices now have speed of 56k. I tried to get into my router back end but it cant find the page. Looking for answers of why arent my new modem and old router talking. They are both netgear nighthawk styles. You think they would be able to talk to each other, right?

Firmware version?  The current consensus seems to be that
V1.0.9.42_10.2.44 is a better bet than anything newer.  To load
    different firmware:

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Downloads.  (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)  Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release Notes" file for
    instructions.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your router model number,
and look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Read.  Look for
    "reset".  (Repeat for the modem?)

    A couple things.

    1. Which router is it? model number? AC1900 is a speed.

    2. Did you reset/reinstall your router when you upgraded your speed and changed modems? Never a bad idea to start fresh when changing modems.

    3. Did you hook anything else to the CM1200? It has multiple ports but unless you have port aggregation (most routers don't), a business line, or an ISP that supports mutliple ip's (most don't) the only usable port would be port 1.

Model is R7000 speed im not sure but what i can say is my previous modem was speeds up to 686mbs and my router worked fine. The previous modem 16x4 docsis 3.0 Mg7550 and had multi ports of which I didnt tell my isp it had and it worked fine. I will ask my isp about that issue tho.

As far as reset and reinstall I havent tried that nor did I think that was an option so I'll try that( assuming I know how to reset).

another thing to check is if it was activated right. How many channels are locked on your modem connections page?
did you have a screen snip of this?
