Router login troubles R7000

I bought a second-hand Netgear R7000. When I tried to connect to this router via routerlogin.net it shows a site with the text "Detecting if there is an existing router in your network, please wait". It keeps detecting on and on. It won't continue.

I have tried a reset to factory settings but it didn't help.

I have tried a firmware update by TFTP and it says "No responce from server"

Can anyone please help me?

Thanks

  • My problem occur when I try to login via a Mac (mac OS Sierra).

I tried a Windows PC and had no trouble logging in.

Once I changed the IP-address, from the router, to a static one I could logging from my Mac too!!!

So, every one thank you very much for thinking.

  • Open browser and enter 192.168.1.1 into the URL location and if you get a prompt for a userID and password use admin and password, that should get you in. If not, try 192.168.0.1 and see if that works.

Doesn't, open a CMD prompt and enter IPCONFIG /ALL and look at the Gateway IP Address. If it isn't one on the above, try that.

    • I did those things already. I keep getting this annoying message. It seems like the router can't take this hurdle.

My router has IP 192.168.1.1 and I have 192.168.1.2

The router may not be in router mode. Reset it before trying to do anything.
