Slow wired ethernet

Hi folks,

I just upgraded from an Asus RT-AC66U to the X6 and have found the ethernet connection to be slow as dirt. My internet connection is 175Mbps down and 25 Up. My Asus consistently clocked 200 down and 30 up.

My modem is an Arris SB6190.

I experienced this with the Asus when I first bought it and fixed it by making sure hardware acceleration was on.

I havent been able to figure out with the R8000 how to do this. The metering and QoS are off and that's what I believe should normally do the trick.

Someone wrote in an older post that if you have PPoE with your provider you're SOL but I cannot imagine that as PPoE is the dominant protocol and my Asus has no issues with it.

Anyone experienced the same with their switch over to this router? Hate to see it go on the obsolete hardware pile as its being outperformed by a pretty prehistoric Asus....

    Welcome to the community, Yellowshock

Have you tried doing a power cycle together with your modem?

Do you have the latest firmware installed on the router?

Do a factory reset after then configure the settings.

Thanks for the suggestions Elaine. I have tried all of those things, yes. Didn't make a difference. Only once did it briefly hit over 100 Mbps but not after any settings were changed.

Frustrated with this device, about ready to try Tomato on it to see if I can control the hardware more.

I'm sorry to hear about that.

I hope the next router will provide the correct speed.
