Still problems with Intermittent Nighthawk X6S R8000P

This problem was raised back in September 2021. Recently, I updated my
R8000P Firmware to Version 1.4.3.88

Afterwards, I get the attached message all too often from many different sites.

I also have the FING desktop app installed. That app frequently  reports "lost connectivity". I bought the R8000P — Nighthawk X6S AC4000 Tri Band WiFi Router

as it was a premium router. Now, after a firmware upgrade, it is unreliable.

The point of upgrading the firmware was to achieve better network security, but not at the cost of stability.

The post from September 7, 2021 suggests downgrading the firmware. I just wonder how far down in the list of available firmware versions I need to go.

When will Netgear supply a firmware version that fixes the network connectivity issue without compromising the network security?

    1. I've heard there's a firmware in the works but its not ready for general release.

    2. some of the issues were fixed with simply enabling ipv6 and rebooting the router. Have you tried that?

    3. the one we usually refer people to if ipv6 doesn't fix the issue is the 1.4.1.68 version. you can try installing that and doing a factory reset/reinstall.

      Plemans,

Thank you for your speedy response. It strikes me as rather odd that enabling IPv6 might solve a problem on an internet populated with IPv4 devices.
Nevertheless, I'll try it tomorrow to avoid disturbing curent network activity here at home.

      Best regards!

For some of the devices, they default to searching ipv6 addresses first and it gives an error because for some reason, its not defaulting back to ipv4 when the ipv6 doesn't go through. Not every ones was resolved with that fix but for some it did. So its worth trying.

I have rolled back to .40

the 2 after that both have the "site not found" issue. So tired of this. This is no a cheap router to buy.

Enabling IPv6 works as a work around for recent FW versions.
