Upgrade firmware

I’m trying to update firmware for my 7800 from the admin portal. Even though there’s a newer version available it is saying no new update available. Is that a common issue?

    Yes. R7800 is EoL and so no longer on NGs auto update services. 

    So if you want new FW, you'll need to manually download it and install it with a PC and web browers. 

    Also refer to Voxels continued FW as well.

    Yes, this is a common experience with Netgear routers.  There appears to be a step that Netgear has to take for products to recognize newer firmware (in addition to posting the new firmware on the support web site).  Sometimes they do.  Sometimes they don't. That is why when a post says "current firmware", we often ask for the specific version.
