R7800

I have two Netgear routers. One main R7800 and the other R6400v2 connected to it via patchcod operating in AP mode. Both are connected to 2.5" drives via USB. On Win10, access to the USB drives is problem-free, mapping works fine. On Win11, I can't map drives from R7800 - it displays the message "An extended error has occurred". However, I can map a drive from R6400V2. Interestingly, the system does not remember credentials despite selecting the "Remember login credentials" option (you have to enter login data every time you start the system to access the resource) and you can't map a resource by router name, e.g.: \R6400v2\DISK2 - it only works by IP address, e.g. \192.168.1.1\DISK2. Both routers and the computer are in the same workgroup. In the Win11 network environment, R7800 is visible but R6400v@ isn't. SMB1 is enabled, Insecure Guest Login is enabled. I reset the network settings and it doesn't work. What could be the reason for the lack of access to the USB disk on the R7800 via Win11?Solved53Views0likes4CommentsR7800 does not work with DPC3216 modem
Hello everyone, I tried searching for my problem and did not find any solutions. I purchased the R7800 and tried to set it up with my DPC3216 (Spectrum) modem today. I correctly power cycled the modem and connected it to the R7800, and the R7800 had all of the correct lights as solid white. I then tried (via wired connection) to finish the setup process on my PC. The negear genie popped up in my firefox browswer. I tried to do the automated setup process (did not work) and also manual setup process (also did not work). The internet works fine if I connect my PC directly to the modem and power cycle the modem. The internet also works fine if I go back to my old tp-link router and power cycle the modem. I also power cycled the modem with my PC directly connected (internet worked) and then attempted to use the R7800 and clone the MAC address of my PC. This still did not work. Has anyone gotten the R7800 working with the DPC3216 modem? I have spent several hours troubleshooting multiple combinations of solutions and am really stuck here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Solved8.2KViews0likes6CommentsNETGEAR R7800-100UKS Nighthawk X4S AC2600 and BT Infinity (FTTP connection)

When I'm checking my "Attached Devices" it does not show the bandwidth usage from any device, even if the device(s) are using the internet. I have "Enable Auto Refreshing" checked. The only way for me to see it work is to reboot the router, but after a while it stops again. I thought the last firmware update had fixed it but I was wrong. Have multiple NETGEAR WiFi routers in office. Prefer to use the office DNS to access them for obvious reasons (e.g., 'PetersWifi' instead of trying to remember IPv4/6 internal addresses like '192.168.245.22', especially since DHCP occasionaly changes the addresses). Unfortunately, calling the embedded admin page on the R7800s by name produces '404' or a bad page (a single digit, usually '0'). The R7800s work if I use the net local IP (sends me to admin login popup). All the other routers (e.g., the R6300s) work as expected regardless of using name, IPv4, or IPv6. Updated to firmware V1.0.2.28, but still fails. 90 day support (these are new routers) requests have produced nothing but a run-around, disrespect, insulting answers ('The Interenet is not available in AP mode.') and refusal to take documentation of the problem. They posted the report to the support web app with the title 'Unable to access the genie page using routerlogin.net' -- so it appears that their '2nd level support expert' doesn't understand basic networking concepts. So i turn to the community for help... anyone? * * * two WIFI access points on this network. One is called “R6300v2” and the other is called “R7800”: log onto the R6300 using its name and a browser, like so: Which gets me to the web interface: on the Nighthawk, here’s what happens: But it WORKS when I just use the IPv4 address:Solved3.8KViews0likes6CommentsCujo and Nighthawk R7800
Hi there I'm trying to get my network a bit more secure and installed the Cujo device. Now I seem to have a bit screwed my network, since I receive around 7000 threats per day, which is quite unusual also according to the Cujo people. I am also in contact with the support guys from Cujo, though I would like to double check the suggestions before I change them in my network. Here's the scenario I would like to have: I'm connected to my ISP with a modem/router, which is also connecting my ISP's TV Box. So for sure, I want to leave that TV Box directly connected to my ISP's modem/router. But then, all the other devices at home, I would like to be connected to my Nighthawk, which is connected behind the ISP modem/router. The ISP modem/router address range is 192.168.1.xxx, and the one from the Nighthawk, which is configured as router as well is 192.168.11.xxx, also acting as a DHCP and configured with OpenDNS. I would like to basically hide my devices from the knowledge of my ISP ;). Now, I put the Cujo, configured in Bridge mode, between the ISP modem/router and my Nighthawk, but as mentioned, I received a bunch of threats. The Cujo support guys suggest that I put the Nighthawk as an AP, which would mean the DHCP is again only my ISP modem/router. Do you guys think this would work, and would my devices still be hidden from the ISP, since they're behind the Cujo?? Thanks for any help and response in advance Regards MartinSolved5.1KViews0likes3CommentsPacket Loss involving R7800, Synergy and Killer 1535 Wireless Network Adapter
Hello, I've noticed whenever I'm using using 'Synergy' to access my Laptop, there is a large increase in dropped packets happening in my 'ping -t google.com' command. (Synergy allows you to use a computers mouse+ keyboard to access/control another networked computer.) The Setup: R7800: Tested with both v1.0.2.04 and the v1.0.2.28 drivers. Desktop Computer: Windows 10: version 1703 Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 driver version 19.50.1.5 Synergy Server Laptop: Windows 10: version 1607 Killer Wireless n/ac 1535 Wireless Network Adapter using Qualcomm Atheros driver version 12.0.0.307 (I have also tried driver 12.0.0.296) Synergy Client The Desktop and Laptop computers are both connecting to the Router via wifi. I noticed latency spikes, so I decided to run 'ping -t google.com' on the Laptop(client to be controlled) to monitor for any latency spikes or dropped packets. Whenever I move my Desktops mouse over to the Laptop screen, using Synergy, the constant pinging of google will show packet loss / 'Request time outs'. The effect is worse if I do a lot of quick mouse movements or navigation of folders on the Client machine. In this setup, I only see packet loss on the Laptop. I have using several different setups: Laptop Wired to Router, Desktop Wireless to Router Laptop Wireless to Router, Desktop Wired to Router Laptop Wired to Router, Desktop Wired to Router Laptop Wireless to Router, Desktop Wireless to Router <-- This setup is where I see the dropped packets. I have tried using a different Router, a Linksys WRT3200ACM and didn't see the issue. I have tried using a different Laptop, one using an Intel 8265 wireless card and saw no issue here. I see packet loss ONLY whenever I use my Laptop, (with a Killer 1535 wifi card), wirelessly connecting to an R7800; and the Computer also connecting wirelessly to that R7800. If I change out the Killer 1535 wifi card, or the R7800, Synergy works fine without packet loss. The other solution would be to have one of the computers connected to the Router via Ethernet, but I would rather not do that, yet. Anyone have any ideas on what may be causing that?Solved6.3KViews0likes3CommentsBought a new NightHawk R7800 . Configuration portal is not accessible
Hi, I bought a Netgear NightHawk R7800. It is connected to my Xfinity Router. I have been trying to configure the router using the genie app on Phone, iPads, laptops (macs) connected on wifi or ethernet. I have reset the router configuration to factory default. I am still unable to access the portal. i'm connected to the wifi of the router, and i get the following message: You are not connected to your Router’s WiFi network. To access routerlogin.net, your device must be connected to your Router’s WiFi network. Check your current connection and try again. After a factory reset, i have tried connect to either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, but the laptop is not able to ping these addresses and as a result i'm unable to configure the router. Anybody has any ideas what i should be doing to fix that issue? Thanks, NicolasSolved3.6KViews0likes4CommentsR7800 and Nest Protect
Hello, I have a netgear R7800 on the latest firmware (.28) and I'm having issues with Nest Protect. Before buying and installing the Netgear I had my (now modem), in router mode and Nest Protect worked fine. The Nest protect is a 2.4 Ghz device only. When I do the original setup and check attached devices it briefly shows up, then it drops from the network and never seems to get back on. I have done the following. Each change made, I factory reset the protect and re-add it onto my Nest account. Changed from auto to channel 6 Changed from 800Mbps to 347 Reserved the IP of the device against the MAC and forwarded some ports following a conversation with Nest support as a test (I never had to do this on the old router) Enabled the guest network and joined it that Enabled the guest network to have access to the LAN. All of the above to no avail. All my other devices are on 5Ghz, or Ethernet. However I joined my phone to 2.4Ghz and used it fine for a day, so this seem isolated to this device. Access control is disabled QOS is switched off Parental controls are disabled I'm using OpenDNS instead of my ISP's UPnP is enabled. Anymore information required, please let me know.Solved7.4KViews0likes13Comments
