VPN client on R6700v3 router - internal network
I have a R6700v3 router with the VPN service set up. I have a Windows 10 laptop with the latest OpenVPN client on it. I had to set it to Unsecured since the TLS was reporting as too low. The client does connect and gets a 192.168.254.2 address from the router. I verified the router has the laptop listed as a connected device.
However, I can not ping or connect to any of my internal 172.16.200.xxx network devices. I have the VPN service set for 'Home network and Internet' in its setup.
I found mention of 'VPN Passthrough' in other forums, but I don't see that setting on the R6700v3. Any suggestions?
Thank you!

Could you please describe how the VPN is being tested?
i.e.
- Laptop is connected to a different network? (friend, coffee shop, work)
- Laptop is connected to a cell phone Hot Spot?

Page 162 in the User Manual explains the requirement for the home router LAN to be different from the network that the remote device (Windows 10 laptop in this case) is on.
In addition to showing the laptop connected, the R6700 router Attached Devices also shows it to be a "VPN Connection"?

What "vpn service" do you have setup on the router?
Most often, I see users using a thirdparty firmware solution for decent vpns

ReadyPlayer2025 - if you are using the cloud-hosted VPN service (Nord, ExpressVPN, ZeroTier, etc), then you don't need to set up anything in your router.
So we do need more details here.
