Website blocked on RAX-50

Beginning on 10-17-25 I began receiving this message when attempting to access https://www.riil.org/:

This IP Address has been blocked. Please contact support if you believe you have received this message in error.

68.230.132.151

I receive the message on multiple devices connected to my Netgear Nighthawk RAX-50.  I am able to access it on my work laptop while on their network.

I have the Nighthawk app on my phone but when I pull it up I don't see any settings to manage blocked web sites.  There is a section called "Security & Support" but when I tap it I am prompted to purchase Armor Plus.

I am not looking to purchase firewall support but unblock this site.  Any suggestions?

  • Closing the loop on this: The administrator of the web site was able to remove the block.  The issue has been resolved.  Thank you, everyone, for your support.

Could you post a screen shot of this message?  Does the Netgear app show that any version of Armor or Smart Parental Controls is installed on the RAX50?

Hi I am attaching a screenshot of the error I receive when trying to navigate to https://www.riil.org/.  Interestingly, the URL changes to riil.org/WebBot.aspx.  It does not look like Parental Controls or Armor are installed/setup because when I tap those entries in the Nighthawk app I am prompted to sign up.

That URL exists on riil.org, so the block is being done from their web server - not your router.

What happens if you go to the address bar and manually remove the /WebBot/aspx (and then hit return) ?  If the problem disappears, then perhaps autocomplete is somehow getting in the way.

As CrimpOn  suggests: If it still happens, you should contact the school.  They might have blocked your IP for some reason (before it was assigned to you), and never removed the block.

  • You may also want to check if your work laptop has a VPN installed during accessing that specific web page. Not all web page are accessible anywhere, It may need special way to access it like VPN, etc

  • You may try also power cycling the router or cleaning your cache in your browser and make sure that the firmware of the router is up-to-date

Hi, I have tried power cycling the router a few times.  The issue occurs on multiple devices connected to my wireless network (Windows laptop, work laptop, cell phone).  But if I turn off Wi-Fi on my cell phone I am able to access the site (or on my work laptop when I am connected in the office....it does not load while connected to my home wireless network).  It is a public site (RI high school sports) that has always loaded until this past Friday.  It is odd that this is the only site that does not load.

You'll need to contact the school and there IT department to find out what that IP address/your IP address is being blocked.

Glad it was the site and not your router.

      Enjoy.
