Wifi Signals Drop 3-4 in evenings daily

Hi:

Our wifi signals have been dropping daily 3-4 times a night between 6:30pm - midnight and in the morning at about 6-7am.

We reset both router and modem daily for about 1.5-2 weeks now.  Spectrum service has come out and they say everything is find on their end.  They insalled a new modem. Lights are on from modem.  However, we still had issues after installing a new modem.

Spectrum thinks it's the router. They have checked the signal and said that there has been no drop from their end. I have checked and the firmware for the Nighthawk router and it is up to date. Signal is strong during the day. We only lost signal during the day a few times the past 2 weeks.

Of course, our customer service with Netgear literally ended 1 month ago and I don't want to pay foe the premium.

Can anyone help me resolve this issue?  How do I optimize the router to work with Spectrum?

Thanks.

  • You might try an older firmware. NG has messed it up in recent releases. If I recall correctly, .42 version is still a recommended one

Always use a wired connection for something as critical as firmware update. WiFi is a good way to brick your router
