My Nighthawk R7000 is connected USB to the printer. How can I print from my Android phone over WIFI? Printer: Brother MFC8860DN Phone: Google Pixel 2 XL Android: vesion 11

Original goal, to print from your phone. Step one, unplug both ends of the USB cable, roll it up and put away in a bottom drawer somewhere. Step two, pull the power cord to both your router and printer. Start the router and give it plenty of time to go through the boot process. Do the same for your printer. Step three, go to the Brother web site, search for your printer by model number and download the network connection tool for your Windows computer. Step four, run the network connection tool and follow the instructions. Including when to connect the ethernet cable between your computer and your printer network interface. You should be able to print from your computer direct to your printer via you local network. If not, figure out what is wrong and fix it before you proceed any further. Step five, download and install the Brother print utility for your phone. This will allow you to print from your phone when connected to your local Wi-Fi and your printer is connected to your router via an ethernet cable.

You should delete all of your Brother printer drivers that were created with other types of connections to the printer (USB etc.). They most likely contain details that will not work well with your new network connection or prevent the Brother phone application from communicating with the printer. Install a new printer driver for a network connection (possibly \\192.168.1.11 in your case). You need to work you way through the add a new printer in the settings section. There is a full path under the blue "The printer that I want isn't listed".

    Have you downloaded the manual and read chapter 11 on sharing a USB printer?
    
    Sharing a USB printer requires use of the Netgear ReadySHARE utility for computers. Not the smoothest approach to sharing a printer on the network.
    
    You may not have a path to print from a phone without a network capable printer.

Doesn't the "N" in that model number stand for "Network"? If the
printer has its own network capability, then why would you use a USB
