Internet LED Behavior - RS700
The Internet LED on my new RS700 is always solid white in normal operation, it never blinks. The manual says it should blink when there is internet traffic. I talked with support and the tech assured me that solid white was normal for the RS700 and that the manual was in error.
I'm still wondering though. Can other RS700 tell me if they are seeing the same behavior?

My RS600 Internet LED blinks for me.
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.- JLCKJCAspirant
My firmware version is V1.0.7.96_2.0.96. My cable modem shows internet activity and with my very old and now replaced router the internet LED did blink. I have good cables.
The Netgear tech support fellow I talked with about this was adamant that the "always solid" internet LED behavior was normal for the RS700.
I very much appreciate your feedback, but I really want to hear from RS700 owners about how the internet LED behaves on their routers.
Thanks!
Looking at the user manual for the RS700, seesm like SOLID WHITE is ready and normal operation: Pg 14

Here is the modem information you requested: Manufacturer, Hitron; model, CDA3-35. It is connected to my RS700 through its RJ-45 Ethernet 10/100/1000 Mbps port. According to the router it is connected to the model at 1000Mbps/Full speed. The Internet light on the RS700 is white and, as far as I can tell, it never blinks. The modem internet light does blink showing internet traffic is present.
Possible how the RS maybe interactive with your particular ISP modem.
If the system is working then just let it run.

Sorry, I thought I replied to this post earlier this week or last week, looks I didn't...
It looks like a firmwate issue, the internet LED is expected to blink when there is traffic going through the internet port.
I just sent a PM to JLCKJC now with a link to a trial firmwarte build that should have fixed the issue. Please let me know if that works for you. Thanks.

I replied to your PM but thought I'd post some of what I said there for those who may be experiencing this same issue discussed in this thread.
I have spoken to four Netgear technicians about the behavior of the Internet LED on my RS700 and they have all told me, even after consulting the manual and the setup web page to the contrary, that what I am experiencing is normal for this router.
They tell me the documentation is in error. I've even found a couple of YouTube videos that show RS700s in operation and those videos show the Internet LED behaving as it does on my unit, always solid white. So, it seems this behavior has been around for some time.
If this is a firmware issue, the Netgear support team seems to know nothing about it and is providing misleading information to Netgear customers. No wonder I'm confused.
Hopefully Netgear will release a FW update soon that fixes the issue and also instructs their techs as to the proper operation of the Internet LED on the RS700 as documented in its manual and on the RS700 web setup page, advanced settings.
Thanks for your feedback and help, it's really appreciated.
