Netgear Horror Story

Short version...two Nighthawk 7 routers (BE9300s) since Saturday (3 days ago), have been basically bricked by Netgear's atrocious tech support.

 

10 hours in 2 days on the phone, on hold with the worst troubleshooting and tech support I've ever seen.  They're even worse than Verizon.

 

Nothing resolved.

 

No one calls back.

 

Have to explain yourself every single time you call in.

 

They don't listen.

 

They don't take notes.

 

They have no command of the English language. 

 

They refuse to give a RMA#.

 

The end result to sum up I got from them was...Oh well.

  • I'm not even going to try to argue with that. My impression of tier 1 support has always been pretty atrocious. So sorry you got that. 

    Maybe we can fix/help on here though 

    1. what actual issue are you having?
    2. what's going on with the routers? 
    3. what are the led's doing? 
    4. what modem/gateway is the router connected to? 
  • Thanks for reaching out, I appreciate it.  This is an atrocious company.

     

    At this point, there is nothing that can be done.  I've reached the end of their scripted troubleshooting.  They admitted that their engineers need to address it but they're refusing to let me talk to them because somehow 11 hours worth was not enough.

     

    Ill be publishing all of the phone calls, emails, etc shortly when I go back to ASUS.

  • No worries. Once something has left a bad taste in your mouth, no going back to it. I'd take a look at Dong Knows. He reviews a ton of wifi products and does a pretty good job of going in-depth between different manufacturers. Might be worth your time to read a few different products reviews before buying another one.
