Netgear RS600 internet stalled over 3-5 week uptime
Hi everyone, I'm seeing an issue over time usually every 3-5 weeks of uptime with my RS600, this issue may not be a RS600 issue as it could be an ONT issue but I doubt it the way it behaves after RS600 is either soft rebooted or hard rebooted the issue disappears. I'm on latest firmware 1.0.1.74 my connection is PPP0E. So when internet stops working I can Login into RS600 and check status on advanced tab, everything comes up all good, check stats on internet tab says all connected and up but WAN Rx B/s & TX b/s have stopped at say 5188 yet LAN still working, now WAN says uptime here 3 minutes and LAN says 25 Days which surmises to me that my internet did go down via ISP maybe but it has re-established connection to RS600 but for some reason a small about of data came through then it just stopped. Rebooting RS600 always fixes issue which make me think ONT is OK as I haven't rebooted it. It's not the end of the world but it is annoying as I'm feeding 2 Houses with this internet so I here about it quick, plus alarm system is hooked & that goes into a panic and seems to happen at early hours of the morning.
If anyone has any idea, wish this had access to a auto reboot feature built in would get round my issue but not ideal fix.
Thanks

I belive that NG separates the uptime seen on the WAN Port vs LAN port and rest of the system. NG seems to track the WAN port separately and if it goes down or connection is lost then returned, this resets the uptime for the WAN port only. You can check the over all system up time from the routers debug page to compare as well at 192.168.1.1/debug.htm. This only gets reset if a reboot or factory reset or power cycle occurs.
Thanks for the reply, the issue is once RS600 reconnects from a dropout, I'm guessing from ISP or ONT it appears that is only runs for a minute then internet connection stops, has no traffic throughput and unable to receive or send data until a full reboot is done yet specs say its all connected & good still at the time of original dropout & re-connect.
The WAN port and RS would be reporting this event and thus resetting the uptime.
I'd contact the ISP and have then look at the interface device and look at the timeframes when this happens that you see this and see if there is anything they can help with...
