NIGHTHAWK D7000 AC1900 to a NIGHTHAWK BE9300 RS300 then the Internet ?

Hi All,9196

I just bought a RS300 Wifi 7 Router and then realised it doed not have a modem in it Doh!. However, I still want the Router but dont really want to buy a modem when I have the D7000 AC1900.

Ben at this for ages now, getting a bit irked with it.

I have put the D7000 in Modem only mode, no joy. Had to a reset to get back into into.

Is there a bridge mode in the D7000 AC1900, I cant find that at the moment.

Sometimes, I get a amber internet on the RS300 but that its. Is ther anything I should change in the RS300?

So .  DSL >>> D7000 AC1900 >>> RS300

Perhaps I putting the cables in the wrong holes ?

Currently, D7000 LAN 1 to RS300 Yellow Internet port.

Anythoughts, or moon on a stick ?

MAny thank,

RT

  • Well I tried your first suggestion above..... AND IT WORKED :-))))

    So for the record.

WIFI om D7000 AC1900 (Button on the top, press and hold)

On the RS300.  Set as Acess Point, Ethernet from Yellow box on RS300 to D7000 port LAN port 1 (also yellow).

    *Side Note.

I have a range TP LINK extender AV600 moved its ethernet to Lan 4 on the RS300, that has just worked like magic :-)

  • You have 2 options.

    1. leave the D7000 in router mode, disable its wireless, and connect the RS300 to it with the RS300 in access point mode
    2. Put the D7000 is modem only mode and troubleshoot your connection issue with it. Usually when its in modem only mode, it has a different IP address. When I was messing with my parents DM200, in its modem only mode, its IP address was 192.168.5.1 but you could only access it if it was a PC directly connected to the dm200 and not through a router. I'm not a big dsl guy. I'd recommend checking the forums with prior people who've setup dsl connections via modem only mode. Here's one for example with how someone got it working with the d7000 and a MR60.  https://community.netgear.com/discussions/home-dsl-modems-routers/trouble-using-d7000-in-modem/2233148/replies/2235306
