Nighthawk RS500 Setup Issue

Hello - I just received my Nighthawk RS500 router and am trying to set it up. I have fiber internet with an existing ethernet cable that I'm using.....every time I try to set up the router via the app, it gets to the part where it checks the ethernet connection and it errors out saying to make sure the ethernet cable is plugged in, which it is.....I can't get past this step in the process. Any suggestions? Thanks

  • What ONT do you have? 
    You can also go through the browser based setup and manually input the settings for your isp/

      It is a Calix. I tried doing the manual set up but it wasn't allowing me to log in to the admin page to do it.

        That's a brand, not a model.

         

        It's like saying "it is a Netgear" or, "it is a Ford".

         

        What happened when you tried to login? What with? Any errors?

    Do it with a web browser and the graphical user interface (GUI).

     

    Visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

    Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

    That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.

    Check the section in the manual Manually set up the Internet connection

    There may also be some helpful videos on what to do.

    You may have done that already. I can't tell from your message.

    I mention it because Netgear gave up on supplying paper manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

      Yeah, after the app wouldn't allow me to connect, I was looking thru the online manual and started to to do the manual internet connecting process via web browser but the webpage you have to go to wouldn't allow me to log in.

        What browser? What message did is show?
