Port Forwarding on Nighthawk RS500 & Starlink
I've recently switched to Starlink which has dramatically increased the Internet speeds in our rural location. I have the Starlink router on 'bypass' and connected to a Nighthawk RS500 WiFi router. Everything works fine except I cannot get Port Forwarding working for external access to our CCTV and alarm systems.
In Advanced Settings I have set up my external Dynamic DNS providers details and set up services in Port Forwarding for the two security systems. However, my DDNS providers website indicates one public IP address 100.121.#.# and the Nighthawk indicates 145.224.#.# - I have tested the required ports on both IP addresses and neither are open. Any (not too technical!) suggestions greatly received ....

If the RS is indicating a 145.x IP address then this would be what the RS is getting from the ISP thru the startlink modem.
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended. Is uPnP disabled on the RS router prior to setting up a PF configuration?

Thanks FURRYe38,
On further investigation, it appears that Starlink works on CGNAT so nothing is going to get through to the NG router! I'm now learning all about OpenVPN and hope to set up a VPN tunnel to bypass the Starlink router.
Check to see if the SL Router has a DMZ feature, if it does, try inputting the IP address given by the SL router to the RS in the SL router DMZ.
