RS100 Email Logs
I've been practically all over the Advanced Tab and subsections and cannot find where to set this up. The Help section in the Logs subsection does state "Click Send Log to send the log file to your e-mail account" BUT, there is no Send Log button anywhere.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thank You.
Hello Dummy001 (no, you are absolutley not - far to many users never look into the online documentation)
Not a Nightawk RS router owner or user here. Have looked over the RS100 User Manual - and have not spotted any indications of this feature.
Looking a little bit further on "bigger" models User Manuals, like the
https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RS200/RS200_RS150_UM_EN.pdf , starting from p.65 one can find a this section:
===
Set up security event email notifications
The router can email you its logs of router activity. The log records router activity and security events such as attempts to access blocked sites or services. To set up email notifications:
...
ADVANCED>Security >E-mail. The E-mail page displays.===
The https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RS90/RS100-90-70_UM_EN.pdf does not show this feature, so best guess is: This feature is not available on the RS100,
Looks to me this section on the device online help does not completely removed for these "smaller" models for simplicity.
In case you are a "new" to the RS100, and you own the RS100 for less than three months - you are entitled for 90 days of complimentary technical support for the installation of your Nighthawk RS100 router, which begins from the date of purchase (== the product registration date) - contact Netgear Support via https://my.netgear.com/ and ask if this impression is correct.

Just wanted to say that this wasn't my 1st Netgear router. That was a R6220 which did have this email ability. I figured since this was a newer router that ability would still be in place.
I looked over the RS200 instructions you put out here and THAT looks like my R6220. Bummer. I thought this email logs deal was standard. I should have researched it a little further before purchasing.
I'm good with it though. It's set up and running, practically out of the box, just minor static IP's made and that's about it.
BTW: That was an AWESOME write up for an answer I have EVER received on a forum EVER. The closest to a response like this was from a bunch of technical guys on a Dodge site trying to help me diagnose an issue on our mini van. Keep it up!!
Thanks again Kurt!

My old router was a R6220. The new one is a RS100. When reviewing the logs just today on the RS100 I see an ABUNDANCE (I use the capitals to emphasize this) of various DoS Attacks. The R6220 would show just basic DoS attacks but the RS100 is showing stuff I've never seen before. i'll attach my log for reference.
So, what's going on here. I've NEVER had this many attacks, ever.
Thank You.

Google A.I. has this to say about RST Scans:
Note that the IP address which appears numerous times (34.117.13.33) belongs to Google.
By default, Netgear routers do not accept connection attempts unless the user has deliberately Forwarded a port to a specific device on the local network.
Thus, these log entries may be the result of code running on the router which attempts to diagnose "attacks" and the code in the RS100 is almost certainly different than the code on the R6220. Perhaps it is a big over zealous?

There is for once no need to waste AI power on the obviously buggy and/or carelelessly implemented and misleading log entries on Netgear consumer router g****e for two decades now. These false positives log entries issue exists much longer.
No idea, why certain generations like the R62xx were not affected.
Looks to me some code is carlelessly simply copied, again, and again.
No idea, why these issues are re-appearing all the sudden on what are supposed to be new NTGR consumer routers.
For how many years Netgear customers are complaining about these nonsense faux false positives, triggered by simply surfing the Internet http and https pages, or accessing Google platfrom based services? NONE of these are effective attacks: Just effects of a broken router implementation!!!!
I'm buffed on how many problems exist on these RS routers - from the big and expensive RS700/RS700S down to the RS100. Not only on a useless fake security only, also on basics like masssive throughput limitations, e.g. on the uplink side of symmetrical 10 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps Internet connections. The later ones are not that obvious, because many of these RS router models come with GbE LAN only.

The original post mentioned setting up the router to automatically send copies of the router log via email. On my ancient Netgear router, this is actually in two different places in the Advanced tab of the web interface:
Have you looked at these menu items in the RS100 to confirm that there are no similar entries?

Dear FURRYe38, It's moot to discuss - this feature exists in the RS100 (and RS90, RS70, ...) online help system only. It does not exist in the user manual, too. Carelessly copied from the bigger models, after playing the typical consumer product "feature removal" game on "less expensive" models, why ever. "They pay less, so they have to accept certain fetures removed".
