RS300 Wifi 7 router
Recently purchased a Netgear RS300 Wifi 7 router. Wireless works great, unable to get my lan wired devices to work. I have tried 2 Netgear unmanaged switches and neither switch can get IP addresses to send to the hard wired devices from this router.
Tech support is worthless, was on phone for 1 1/2 hours and no one could help me.
So before I return this device has anyone seen this before?

What model# are these switches?
What port are you connecting the switch to on the back of the RS Router?
What CAT# LAN cables are you using? CAT6 is recommended.
Do ethernet connected devices connect and work while connected directly to the back of the RS router?
I have a had a GS308, GS808 and a HP 1400 series managed switch connected to my RS600 and all work fine.

Unmanaged switches don't "get IP addresses". That is in the hands of the router.
Where do the switches sit in the network? They should be after the router. They then work with the router which assigns IP addresses.
Just another user with time on their hands.

Michael,
I actually only use 1 Netgear 16port (GS316) switch. But for troubleshooting purposes,
I disconnected that switch and used a Netgear 8 port switch that I have on hand. It reacted the same way.
NO IP addresses will come through the switches. On the router you have 2 ports to use for normal LAN, and I have tried both and same reaction. So here is my configuration, Cable Modem, connected to RS300, Switch connected to RS300 via ethernet port.

Michael,
I know that unmanaged switches do not get IP addresses, but they should let the router send them through to the devices. That's how it worked before I replaced the Cable Modem and the router on Tuesday.
This was all caused because my old Netgear router died after 8 long years.
