RS700 Issues

After updating my Nighthawk RS700 router’s firmware to V1.0.9.6, several devices stopped connecting, and the device name database became corrupted where device names got assigned to other devices randomly.  I understand his is a known bug that Netgear has yet to resolve. Despite spending hours with Netgear support and opening multiple cases, their only fix was to downgrade the firmware to 1.0.7.96, which resolved the connectivity issues but not the device name database problem. Support offered a trial firmware, but communication stalled and my cases disappeared from their website.

Has anyone else had this issue and found a resolution by any chance? When I spoke with support they said there was no trial firmware that addresses this problem. I wish I had taken a screenshot of the message sent by a Netgear representative in response to a case that I had opened with this issue.

Ya there are known issues with v.6 FW. Work around is to downgrade or try the beta that is being offered here in the forums.

Thank you very much, please let me know as soon as the trial firmware is available.

  • I also has similar issue ~ May i also sign up for the  trial firmware ?

  • Hello BH_C and RichardTTT  - I also have the RS700 running on the latest available v1.0.9.6 Firmware, and am encountering the same device database issues after spending the time to painstakingly set-up my "Attached Devices" Access Control table, with the Device Name / Assigned IP Address / MAC Address detailed mappings, which randomly change on their own.

Could you please send me the Beta/Trial Firmware to try/test? I would really appreciate it! Thank you in advance.

    Feature Request:

I really wish the UI contained an "Export" / "Import" function for this "Attached Devices" table and/or the LAN Setup IP Address Reservation Table - using something like a CSV formatted text file - since this is a very tedious process to set-up and modify within the UI one-by-one and would be much easier to manage via CSV, as the "Backup Settings" file is not viewable or modifiable and can have compatibility issues between firmware updates. This is especially frustrating when problems occur and thus requires manual set-up of all of my router device mappings from scratch all over again, individually one-by-one via UI buttons, when restoring the backup file doesn't work or updates need to be made.
