RS700s PC Clients cannot be seen on same workgroup

I never had this issue with older Netgear routers in that all P/C MS Window clients assigned to same Windows workgroup cannot see each other even though in this RS700 it also has the same name for workgroup

What is missing or not configured that would cause this issue ?

To connect and map to another P/C I have to manually type in the path where all clients should be seen under windows network

All P/C clients using TCP/IP connected via 2.4, 5 Ghz and Ethernet LAN

  • Did you make sure your Windows PCs are set in Private network mode instead of Public?

      That one bit me today.

After much faffing around with m odems and routers to get my ISP accept that its network was bust and not my system, I found that the desktop Speedtest App would not connect.

Lo and behind, the network had gone public during the changes.

Flick to private and Speedtest jumped into action.

Please expand on this as MS Windows either allows setting the P/Cs to a domain

or a workgroup which is what all my P/Cs as clients and server are with the same workgroup name

They always saw each other with other Netgear routers but went blind when using this RS700

Were is the stting for private,?

is this a router setting, if so where or where as to MS Windows settings as all I see is domain which never used, but as workgroups which is also what the RS700 has a setting for and also set to the same workgroup name ?

        Thanks
