HP spectre 4k screen problems
There must be a fault in the software, normaly I have my pc icon topmostleft on the screen and with the readycloud software running (auto-startup) my mouse pointer does not work on the upper left ...

Cannot make a snapshot with the mouse pointer active . The problem is : if I have ready cloud running in the background, and if I hover the mouse over “empty3”,than [empty1] is highlighted and when I right click on it, it says copy here, move here, create Shortcuts here and cancel.
And if I exit the Ready cloud program, it behaves normally The I can open [empty1] if I hover over [empty1] and [empty2] etc.
Normally I have the pc icon on the place of [empty1] And if I don’t use ready cloud no problems. None what so ever than everything behaves normal. It took a while to figure out that ready cloud was to blame for the fault.
And about the resolution, it is set to recommended 3840x2160
I have updated the firmware already at HP, but the problem is still here.
As it is, I can work around it by keeping these three empty folders on my screen
My laptop is a HP Spectre x360 15 inch
Kind regards and thank very much for the rapid reaction.
sorry, no idea how to add a picture at all at forums in general. Oh found it

And what is the DPI scaling being used with the laptop?
- hans7321Apr 22, 2016Aspirant
I think about 284
horizontal the screen is 13.5 inch with 3840 pixels so 3840 / 13.5 = 284.44 But I still don't see that it could have anyting to do with the problem mouse screen coordination like I said it's only a small portion of the screen topleft and only when I use the ready cloud software. If I disable it in statrup, the I have no problems whatso ever with the screen and mouse pointer. And if I enable ready cloud in the startup, the problems return.
That's how I found out in the first place what caused the problem by enabling aal the programm's in start up one by one and reboot .
during startup it works well and during the sequence the fault appears.
kind regards

Let me try again... Windows lets you SET the DPI scaling, along with font size, etc. Windows uses those settings in its layout - increasing the DPI scaling will make everything bigger. Often some things do break in Windows if the system isn't using the default settings.
I wasn't asking you to compute anything, I was just asking you to look at the window setting for this. I included a link on how to find it with windows 10. Here's another link for windows 7 ( http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/windows-and-office/get-a-better-view-in-windows-7-by-adjusting-dpi-scaling/ )
Though it is rather confusing on exactly how the readycloud app could interfere with icon selection on the display...

So at the moment it is set to 250% (recommended) I have tried it an all percentages, starting at 100% Then it works, as it should but I'd need a magnifier glas to see what I'm doing and all the other percentages (incr. 25% steps) give me the problem
If I'm hovering over icon4, it highlights Icon 2 if I'm over 3, icon 1 is highlighted . but at 100% it is doing alright
I hope this info is usefull,
I did had a few problems in the beginning with pen pressure sensitivity but with a firmware update ithis was easily corrected.
So it is not a very big issue, I can work around it with a few dummy folders on the desktop. It's just the puzzle that it is thing like that keep me trying to figure it out. And knowing it has to do with ready cloud finding that was already rewarding so thanks very much for the thining and kind regards Hans
