Okay, I tried this, set up port forwarding on my router to allow the mac desktop ready cloud to remotely access it outside my home network. As part of this I also went into the NAS network setup and set the IP address from DHCP to Static so that way it always had the same IP address to forward to and this appears to have a bad side effect, I did this because I turn my NAS off at night. When I set the IP address to Static, ready cloud would report the NAS as offline even though it was still working since I could use the RAIDar app to get into the admin tools as well as stream content from the NAS to iTunes and other media devices. As soon as I switch the IP address from Static to DHCP everything was fine again, but can not login on remotely and it still report the VPN is disconnected.
Any insight on how to get around this.
