Same here, this is an issue with ReadyCloud, I and many others are experiencing the same issues. Apparently the NetGear peeps are aware of a problem and working on it!

Shouldn't I still be able to access it directly w/o going through their system though?

I am having this same issue you can log in throught the RAIDar Program in the admin page and this should allow you to access the files from there. I know it allows it for me. Hope this helps

Only admin page I used was through ReadyCLOUD. My question is why can't I log on to the ReadyNAS locally (within my network) even if ReadyCLOUD is down. I didn't get this so I would be dependent on an Internet service provider either. I got it LOCAL so I had it as a stand alone!!! If I go in through explorer, I can see the folders listed but have to log in to access them (but it won't take my login)

If you go to Readycloud.netgear.com, hit the MANAGE button next to your device, you should be able to log is as Admin (if you know your admin password).
From there, I can still see everything that was backed up from every device. No data appears to have been deleted. All my users are deleted and can't access any other way though... huge problem.
But I can definitely confirm that no data has been deleted (at least on my system).

Yep. The cloud user account has been deleted from the NAS as well as the data uploaded from mobile devices.
