RN31200 vpn file sharing setup
Hi All,
I think this had been asked before but I don't have much information on a sort of step-by-step guide to setting up the vpn sharing for the NAS.
I'm currently having issue to configure the RN31200 and the modem Archer D7. I'm looking for a method to access the NAS via the computer file system, just like how Dropbox and Google Drive work, and I think it will require some sort of VPN to be set up. I had install VPN server on the NAS but not sure how to properly set it up afterwards.
Could someone please shed some light on the process? Many thanks.

Hello Tommy
ReadyCLOUD can provide you VPN connection easily when you are out of LAN network, you can register a MyNETGEAR account and use it to activate ReadyCLOUD service in ReadyNAS admin UI,after you activated ReadyCLOUD service, you will be able to access samba/AFP share of your NAS over VPN connection when you are not in LAN network.
to register MyNETGEAR account, you can go to https://my.netgear.com/registration/login.aspx to register your NAS device or create a new account directly at https://readycloud.netgear.com/
you also need to install ReadyCLOUD client to your Windows/Mac OS for VPN share access and sync/backup your data to NAS anywhere.
Windows version

Mac version
http://readycloud.netgear.com/client/install/ReadyCLOUD.pkg

Hi Deniro,
Thanks for your solution. I had revisited the settings and whenever I'm trying to connect to the NAS out of the LAN, it'll say NAS Online (VPN Disconnected). Are there any other setup I need to do on my router or setting on the NAS itself?
I've also seen a lot of post about VPN disconnected but no solution had been found yet?

Hi Tommy
Can you please check IP of Leafp2p Networks interface in Network connection of your Windows? to connect VPN you should make sure this interface can obtain a 5.*.*.* IP address, otherwise please change DNS to 8.8.8.8 (Google public DNS)on local area interface. I'm waiting for your reply.
