Streaming videos remotely to ipad on 3G, help please
Hi, I am a newbie and not very technology savvy, am trying to stream videos from my readynas 4 bay to iPad via 3G. I've tried the readycloud and readyDLNA but it just stalls before the video ever star...

The problem is that the videos are exceeding the bitrate for 3G. 8player won't help.
They need to be converted to a lower quality/bitrate. Plex will do that on the fly on the RN300 or RN500, but the RN104 doesn't have enough horsepower for real-time transcoding.
Perhaps try installing plex on a PC, and see if that works ok. If it does, you can just run it there (keeping the media on the RN104), or upgrade to the RN300 series.
Another option is to convert the media off-line, and keep a second (lower quality) copy of the NAS for 3G streaming.
