Streaming videos remotely to ipad on 3G, help please
Hi, I am a newbie and not very technology savvy, am trying to stream videos from my readynas 4 bay to iPad via 3G. I've tried the readycloud and readyDLNA but it just stalls before the video ever star...

If you install the plex server on a home PC, you can stream your 3G content using that server. It does require that PC to be on while you are away, and that a plex port be forwarded in your router to the PC.

WiFi is usually faster than 3G when away from home, but if the internet connection is slow (for instance in a hotel) you might still run into situations where transcoding/rate reduction is needed.
Some hotels might also block the ports you need, in which case plex won't connect at all. (Most don't, but some do).
