What app?  Are you expecting it to work over your home WiFi, or are you expecting it to work when you are away from home?

  • App is called owncloud
Its asking for my server address for my nas
What would that be?? Yes i know my username and password

You need to install the owncloud server app on the NAS, and the owncloud client app on the iphone.

You'll also need to forward the appropriate ports in your router to the NAS, and also get a ddns name that points to your router (noip still offers a free service).

I don't use owncloud myself, so hopefully someone does can point you to a suitable guide.

  • Thank you but that sounds hard to do
All the apps are so slow to access my photos
The ready cloud app is so slow
Im looking for an easy app to look at my photos and music

Most of the ways of doing this (other than readycloud) will require either getting a DDNS name for your router, or port forwarding - or both.

Is the goal simply to view photos/listen to music that is stored on the NAS?

If so, plex is one option - it requires port forwarding, but not DDNS.

It's not for the faint of heart.  Which NAS do you have?  ZeroTier may meet your needs better, but the ReadyNAS app is only available for OS 6.6.0 and up.

But if ReadyCloud and ReadyNAS Photos are slow, it's likely because the upload speed provided by your ISP is slow and nothing except a more expensive service tier from them is going to solve it.

FWIW, just pointing out that the OP hasn't answered StephenB's question: "Are you expecting it to work over your home WiFi, or are you expecting it to work when you are away from home?"  If it's the first, then all this scary talk about routers and ports might not be necessary.

        Edit: correction
