3rd Party Crashplan App?
I'm in the process of upgrading from an Ultra 4 to a RN314 and am wondering if I should try creating a bundled CrashPlan app for the marketplace.
From what I can tell the instructions here http://ptarmiganlabs.wordpress.com/2013 ... 312-hello/ work for the RN3* series.
Is this a reasonable task for a 3rd party to attempt or will NetGear only accept an app like this if it is coming from CrashPlan themselves?

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredConsidering the T&C's of Crashplan I believe an app developer decided such an app would need to come direct from Crashplan. You might want to ask Crashplan what they think.
- edalquistApprenticeThanks,
I found https://helpdesk.code42.com/entries/202 ... r-ReadyNAS which doesn't appear promising but I opened a ticket none the less.
It would be nice to even get approval for an OSS project to just create the scaffold for a CrashPlan app that would make it easier for people to install and upgrade CrashPlan on ReadyNAS devices.- weinelmTutor
I think an app like this would help a lot of people out. I think the crashplan T&Cs prevent redistribution, but another vendors NAS got around it by having the app download the binaries from crashplan as part of the installation.
