AVTECH support requested

Hello,

I was hoping to mention AVTECH and their High Speed Domes so that they will come in to the supported camera list. ONVIF does not work in the new 1.2 BETA unfortunately...

I am crossing my fingers!

Best regards,
DataElite

  • The ReadyNAS should support: "Axis, Panasonic, Mobotix, Samsung, Pelco, Toshiba, Sony, ACTi, Arecont, Arm Electronics, Basler, Brickcom, CNB Technology, D-Link, Dynacolor, Eneo, EverFocus, FINE, Grunding, HIKVision, Honeywell, IQinVision, Level One, Linksys, Lumenera, Pixord, Santec, Sanyo, StarDot, Truen, Videosec, Vivotek, Zavio, and ONVIF compliant cameras."

The AVTECH AVM542B and others very promising HD cameras have got ONVIF listed.

Do you know if it works? Otherwise we also would appreciate if AVTECH cameras could come on the compatibility list!

Thankful for any information regarding this. /Johan

I have also tried to connect an AVTECH camera (AVM542B) with the ONVIF setting. The ReadyNAS Surveillance finds the camera, automatically selects "Vendor ONVIF" and "Model ONVIF". All settings seem to be OK. However, it cannot connect the data stream and will show no Live view either. :( :(

This camera line seems otherwise very promising: HD-camera (1920x1080), H.264, WDDR, Vandal resistant, Outdoor capable (IP66, -20°C), PoE, full darkness monitoring (≤50 m), SMS, and less expensive than most in this category. They also have a similar but PTZ equipped model (without IR diodes though).

I don't know if the problems is in the camera, the ReadyNAS Surveillance or in the settings. The tested ReadyNAS Surveillance is 1.3.2.

I'm thankful if somebody has a solution to this. Then we will buy the ReadyNAS Surveillance.

    Best regards Johan
  • AVTech is currently not supported by ReadyNAS Surveillance.

Looks like there is additional ONVIF compatibility issues with the AVTech camera you tested. Unfortunately, we do not have development resources to debug if the compatibility issue is with the camera or our application.
  • Hi Jabba,
According to our AVTECH vendor, this AVM542B camera should be compatible with both ONVIF 1.2 and ONVIF 2.0.
What is the required ONVIF version for ReadyNAS Surveillance?
    best regards /Johan
  • ReadyNAS Surveillance launched with support for ONVIF version 1.0.2 Profile S.
I don't know if was officially updated to 1.2 to 2.0
  • Hi Netgear!
I think it should be rather easily for you to fix the AVTECH support, at least for the AVM542 model and similar models with H264.
I have got the AVTECH camera to work with another surveillance program, the "Sighthound". That program can find and use the AVM542 camera by this stream path: "http://[IP-address, i. e. 192.168.1.10]:88/cgi-bin/guest/Video.cgi?media=H264" together with correct login and password.
    Best regards

  • Hi,
I just bought a AvTech AVM561 camera. Will there ever be any support for AvTech cameras?

    Regards,
    /Patrik
  • if this is a new model, they might have not tested it yet. So your best bet is to try it if it can be detected at all.
  • well none of AvTech camera is listed as supported, even though my is ONVIF compatible. Although the camera is detected as "Vendor ONVIF" and "Model ONVIF" is it not possible to connect to it...
...but i can connect with other softwares, even with VLC media player!

    Regards
    /Patrik
  • I have given up waiting for Netgear Surveillance to progress and update for newer cameras, new ONVIF versions etc.
I have bought and installed Sighthound on Macintosh instead. Then you have the ability to make very many cameras working and you can also put in your own strings of commands if needed. Sighthound has many good functions and also mobile integration with alarms for persons entering zones etc. AVTECH 542B works perfectly with Sighthound.
However, I will use our ReadyNAS systems to save the video files.
