Enabling Logitech Media Server on new ReadyNas RN212D3

Have posted this question elsewhere but not answered so starting a new discussion.

Have purchased a ReadyNas RN212D23 (2x3TB, Arm Quad processor running OS 6.4.2).  I can access media (music, pictures, videos) stored on it via DLNA but also want to use it as a Logitech Media Server to use with Logitech Duets/Radios.

I've found an LMS App under available Apps in the Admin pages of the ReadyNas listed as Logitech Media Server V1.0.6 developed by Poussin.  I installed this and although I got got an install error it subsequently appeared under Installed Apps.  This enabled the LMS to be seen on my network but no content was visible. I then launched the App and used the Settings pages to do a scan for music which completed successfully and was then able to connect my Logitech Radio and Duet to the LMS and stream music.  Great!

However, I've found references in the forums to other LMS files but there's not much information on what they actually do.  Specifically:

  1. At https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ie9pwk1wut72ias/AACr8V9vMB2dC5lbj03l5VyDa/Logitech%20Media%20server?dl=0 there appears to be a copy of the above App file plus later releases (lms_1.0.7_all.deb, 1.08, 1.09) and some Logitechmediaserver deb files (e.g. logitechmediaserver_7.7.2_all.deb, 7.7.3, 7.8.0) all supplied by Poussin.  The readme supplied says to install a specific Logitechmediaserver file and then one of the lms files.
  2. At http://downloads.slimdevices.com/ there are various versions of the above logitechmediaserver files including a v7.9.0 in a nightly folder

Given my LMS seems to be working do I need to install any of these?  If so, what do the Logitechmediaserver files replace on the ReadyNas?

Any help, guidance would be appreciated.  Thanks

    Hi forestpct,

If it's working fine, there's nothing to change or need to install. If an updated version of the add-on is available through Logitech, you may give it a try.

    Kind regards,
