HikVision Compatability
Hi there,
I've seen quite a few cameras listed for HikVision. My concern is the resolution listed for them.
I have 2 DS-2CD3132-I (effectively the same product as DS-2CD2312-I) and they are 3MP cameras supporting 2048x1536 resolution. But the compatability list states the max resolution for these using ReadyNAS Surveillance is only 1280x960.
Why doesn't it support them up to 3MP resolution?
Why does it state that it can support the DS-2CD2732FIS at resolution of 2048x1536 when the only real difference between these two cameras is that the 2732 has a vari-focal lense? (ok, and a memory card slot and audio...)
Thanks,
-G

- BrannorGuideOk. I have 2 DS-2CD3132-I that I'm trying to get to work with this during the trial period.
Camera Search returns that they are "Generic".
Fine... this is a trial...
But if I go to Camera Status, and try connect, it 'connects' but then instantly disconnects with no error, nothing.
Would appreciate some assistance, otherwise I'll have to find an alternative to ReadyNAS Surveillance.
-G - BrannorGuideOk. The issue with not connecting was the username... bizarrely it didn't like my admin credentials for the camera. So I created an "Operator" and assigned the functionality, and it works.
Except I'm still not sure it's recording in 3MP resolution - I'm remoting into the PC so getting bad res back anyway... will have to check on local monitor when I get home.
EDIT:... it didn't like the admin credentials because I changed the password on the camera... you know...security conscious and all...
-G - BrannorGuideAfter discussions with the ReadyNAS Surveillance team, I tested the outputs from the camera (record from Livestream) and then from the RNS playback saving as an AVI.
I can confirm that the video output is not downscaled, or anything. ReadyNAS Surveillance does indeed appear to record the raw data from the camera. Even though my camera is not listed in the compatibility list, I can confirm that it recorded at 2MP (30fps) - I didn't record at 3MP as the fps is too slow for where I am setting it up.
I've been told that they will be reviewing the compatibility list soon and I expect there'll be a lot of changes to the HikVision segment. :)
-G - rdennesAspirantCan anyone confirm if either the DS-2CD2132-I or DS-2CD2532F-IS are listed. The current compatability list does not show these devices and they are the reason I would be purchasing the ReadyNAS and Surveillance add-on.
