Hi fmhemmer,
Sorry to hear about the challenge you are having to get started with the ReadyNAS Vault.
By default, the "includes" tab should pre-populate the drop-down menu of the "Folder:" selection option with the paths of each of the network shares on the NAS. You can use the drop-down to select a share. If you would like to backup a specific folder within the share only, you will need to write in the remainder of the path (we are working on an option to allow full browsing).
Since it looks lke the folder in question (/data/ADMIN) is a share, it should present in the drop-down for easy selection. If that is not that case, we would like to schedule a live screenshare support session with one of our technical specialists. Please send us a Private Message with the email associated with your account, and we will contact you directly to set up a time (also, we can research your account ahead of the session, so we can better and more efficiently support you).
In the meantime, for any other users curious about this question, there is an FAQ here on the subject:

Well, no.
Admin is a built-in account for the NAS, so there won't be a /data/admin folder. There will be a /data/home/admin folder though. That will appear as an "admin" share if you access the NAS using the NAS admin credentials.

StephenB - great catch! Apologies to fmhemmer and all other readers for our mis-statement.
Since the /data/admin is not, in fact, a share, you can just write the path in manually in the Includes section (the Drop-down is a combobox, allowing you to either select from a pre-populatd share, or just type in a folder path. That can be quite tedious if the folder path is long, but in this case will be pretty painless.
Does this help resolve the issue? If not, please PM us and we will help you figure it out (and post any solutions back here upon resolution).
Thanks,
ReadyNAS Vault Team

I think it'd be better to create a share (though it can't be called admin) and move the data into it. Then delete the admin folder. That would also let you control permissions, snapshots, etc from the web ui.
